Recently, I asked a group of local actors if there was a community theater or had been one in recent memory in Lindale, Texas. And if not, why not? The answers were, "No," and "Sure, why not?" Out of those initial conversations, the Lindale Community Theater was born. With the guidance, encouragement, support and long hours of hard work given by Gary Martin and the considerable assistance of Elizabeth and Doug Stricklin and Marge Boland, we found a home at Holy Family Church Center in downtown Lindale, and the hard work of getting a theater off the ground began.
Okay, so the decision was made. Now what? Lots of details, questions, more details. By the way, did I mention needing actors and maybe a play in which they could act? Having met all of these challenges (and maybe a few more!), through significant sweat and a little elbow grease, we feel the time has come.
The LCT will provide quality, live entertainment to Lindale and the surrounding communities. From humble beginnings, we intend to constantly look for ways to make the theatrical experience more rewarding for our audience, actors, and all of the behind-the-scenes people that make it all possible.
"The longest journey begins with a single step." We have taken that step and invite you to join us in this adventure.
